*COVID-19: ENLISTMENT OF YOUTHS FOR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S SPECIAL PUBLIC WORKS (SPW) PROGRAMME*

Greetings from the state leadership, and happy Easter to all Christian Faithfuls.

2. In view of the announcement made by the Federal Government on the above subject matter, via the Minister of Finances, Budget, and National Planning, Hon. Zainab Ahmed, on April 6, 2020, I have the directive of the State Executive Council to inform you of a window of opportunities for our youths to benefit from the recruitment of 774,000 persons across the nation.

3. The recruitment of Officials for the SPW Programmes has no requirement for formal education or technical skills, as enlisted persons are to be engaged in community works to cushion the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

4. To ensure the enlistment of interested young persons in Ogun State, the leadership of the Youths hereby call for submission of names from the Coordinators of the twenty (20) Local Governments.

5. Each Coordinator is to present a hundred (100) nominees, across all wards of the Local Government, that reflects the interest of all affiliated organizations including recommendations from Local Government Chairmen, House of Assembly members, Stakeholders, and past Executives of the Council.

6. The information needed from each nominee are: NYCN ID, Full names, Home Address, Email, and Phone Number. Every nominated person is expected to have registered as a Youth on the website of the Council, as the NYCN ID will be used to verify and approve all nominations received.

7.  Submission of nominees, saved as an Excel Document (using attached sample), should be sent with the name of each Local Branch as Subject Title, to the Office of the State Secretary via a.shoremi@nycnogun.ng on or before 12noon on April 13, 2020.

8. Kindly treat this notice with deserving attention as late submissions will NOT be entertained.

Meet the 12-Year-Old British-Nigerian WizKid Who Made a Historical Mathematics Discovery

  Our youth are some of the most gifted individuals we have making major contributions to STEM and 12-year-old Chika Ofili is no different. The young Nigerian boy — who’s based in the U.K. — made a historical discovery by unearthing a new mathematical formula to make the study of mathematics easier to understand. BREAKING: FG Orders NDLEA to Stop Recruitment Exercise

The Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to put screening of 5,000 new recruits on hold. The ordered was contained in a statement Friday night by Dayo Apata, Solicitor General of the Federation. Apata is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice. NDLEA had asked the candidates to go to the agency’s academy, Citadel Counter-Narcotics Nigeria, (CCNN) at Katton-Rikkos, Jos, Plateau State. They are to appear for the screening and documentation exercise between January 10 and 23, 2021. But Malami said though the exercise is long overdue and necessary for the actualization of the NDLEA mandate, “the timing is ill-advised and inappropriate.” The AGF cited the current and alarming wave of COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
