Meet President Buhari new Chief of Staff

Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR (born November 24, 1944, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian scholar and diplomat. He was Minister for External Affairs between 1984 and 1985. Gambari has been appointed by the secretary-general of United Nations Ban Ki-moon and the chairperson of the African Union Commission as Joint African Union-United Nations Special Representative for Darfur effective from 1 January 2010.[1] He is currently the Special Adviser on the International Compact with Iraq and Other Issues for the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he served as the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations (USG) for the Department of Political Affairs (DPA). He was appointed on June 10, 2005, and assumed the post on July 1 of that year. On March 4, 2013, Ibrahim Gambari was named by the Kwara State Governor, AbdulFatah Ahmad, as the pioneer chancellor of the Kwara State University, making him the ceremonial head of the university who presides over convocations to award degrees and diplomas and also supports the vision and mission of the university in all respects, including fundraising, social, economic and academic goals. As a university that continues to gain credence as a community development university with world class standards, the selection of Gambari is expected to give the institution additional international boost and recognition. Gambari is also co-chair of the Albright-Gambari Commission. He was appointed by president Muhammadu Buhari on May 12 2020 to replace the late Chief of staff,late Abba Kyari who died of covid-19 on April 17 2020. Source: Wikipedia

Every 25th of December a town in Peru celebrate a traditional of fighting called "Takanakuy"

Takanakuy ( "to hit each other")  is an annual established practice of fighting fellow community members held on 25 December, by the inhabitants of Chumbivilcas Province , near Cuzco in Peru . The practice started in Santo Tomás, the capital of Chumbivilcas, and has now spread to other villages and cities, the prominent ones being Cuzco and Lima .  The festival consists of dancing and of individuals fighting each other to settle old conflicts. BREAKING: FG Orders NDLEA to Stop Recruitment Exercise

The Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to put screening of 5,000 new recruits on hold. The ordered was contained in a statement Friday night by Dayo Apata, Solicitor General of the Federation. Apata is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice. NDLEA had asked the candidates to go to the agency’s academy, Citadel Counter-Narcotics Nigeria, (CCNN) at Katton-Rikkos, Jos, Plateau State. They are to appear for the screening and documentation exercise between January 10 and 23, 2021. But Malami said though the exercise is long overdue and necessary for the actualization of the NDLEA mandate, “the timing is ill-advised and inappropriate.” The AGF cited the current and alarming wave of COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
