Just In: Osun Gets New Police Commissioner

A new Commissioner of Police, CP Olokode Olawale (psc) has been posted to Osun State Police Command and assumed office following the recent promotion and redeployment of the former State Commissioner of Police, CP Udie J. Adie (psc+) who is now AIGP.

This was contained in statement issued on Wednesday evening by the Osun State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Opalola Yemisi.

CP Olokode Olawale was born some decades ago in Odeda L.G.A, Ogun State. He has grown to become an achiever.

The Commissioner of Police, a holder of M.SC in Peace & Conflict Resolutions Studies from National Open University of Nigeria and B. SC in Sociology from the University of Ibadan, was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in March, 1988 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).

CP Olokode Olawale, a proudly Nigerian, has served in several States of the country across the six Geopolitical Zones. Some of the States he has served include but not limited to the following: Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Niger, Cross River, Kogi, Kano, Jigawa, INEC Headquarters and Force Headquarters Abuja among others. A thoroughbred professional who has, since joining the Force, made waves in the departments that hold the Nigeria Police namely: Administration, Operations and Investigations like a colossus.

CP Olokode is the Commissioner of Police, Border Patrol before his transfer to this command in December, 2020. An officer known for his candour and no nonsense, but could also be a bundle of humorous relief when in the midst of friends, colleagues or subordinates.

He is happily married with children.

Takanakuy ( "to hit each other") is an annual established practice of fighting fellow community members held on 25 December, by the inhabitants of Chumbivilcas Province , near Cuzco in Peru . BREAKING: FG Orders NDLEA to Stop Recruitment Exercise

The Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to put screening of 5,000 new recruits on hold. The ordered was contained in a statement Friday night by Dayo Apata, Solicitor General of the Federation. Apata is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice. NDLEA had asked the candidates to go to the agency’s academy, Citadel Counter-Narcotics Nigeria, (CCNN) at Katton-Rikkos, Jos, Plateau State. They are to appear for the screening and documentation exercise between January 10 and 23, 2021. But Malami said though the exercise is long overdue and necessary for the actualization of the NDLEA mandate, “the timing is ill-advised and inappropriate.” The AGF cited the current and alarming wave of COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
