LAUTECH: Oyo approves N8bn pay-off to Osun

The Oyo state government has approved payment of N8bn to Osun state as part of agreements reached for the sole ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho. The money, according to the Oyo government is to be paid in four installments, over a period of three years. These were disclosed on Tuesday during a briefing after the weekly State Executive Council meeting presided over Governor Seyi Makinde. Osun 2022: Group Sets to Empower Osun Citizen Ahead of Guber Election

 A group within People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Osun state, ‘Vote Adeleke 2022’ have concluded plan to empower the citizens ahead of the 2022 governorship election in the state. BREAKING: FG Orders NDLEA to Stop Recruitment Exercise

The Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has directed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to put screening of 5,000 new recruits on hold. The ordered was contained in a statement Friday night by Dayo Apata, Solicitor General of the Federation. Apata is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice. NDLEA had asked the candidates to go to the agency’s academy, Citadel Counter-Narcotics Nigeria, (CCNN) at Katton-Rikkos, Jos, Plateau State. They are to appear for the screening and documentation exercise between January 10 and 23, 2021. But Malami said though the exercise is long overdue and necessary for the actualization of the NDLEA mandate, “the timing is ill-advised and inappropriate.” The AGF cited the current and alarming wave of COVID-19 pandemic across the country. OGUN APPROVES 2020 TETFUND COUNTERPART ALLOCATION

 Ogun State government has approved the payment of year 2020 Tertiary Education Trust Fund counterpart allocation, to tertiary institutions in the State, for improved infrastructure development. The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has also approved the resuscitation and relocation of Ogun State Braille Book Production Centre and the provision of lunch and complementary meals, for pupils in the State Special Schools for 2020/2021 academic session, so as to engender smooth running of academic calendar, for better performance.  Human rights activist and co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has lambasted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government, saying the country belongs to everyone and no one should be arrested for protesting peacefully.
